At the site of a gun purchase, a specialized AI would be able to delve into a person’s psyche, school records, police records, medical records (privacy maintained), citizenship, social media, etc., to determine if the person is likely to be a responsible gun owner. It would snap a picture too.

If approved and the entry of the gun’s serial number, the gun sale would be completed and registered. A similar, streamlined, process could be used for the purchase of ammunition.
