HAVANA (AP) — A total blackout hit Cuba on Wednesday, Sept 11th, 2025, the latest in a series of outages blamed on aging infrastructure and fuel shortages at power plants.

It was the second island-wide outage this year, with three other blackouts reported late last year.

If we were ever thinking of reestablishing relations with Cuba, now would be the time. I think we should help them modernize their power grid.

I think we’d make friends and limit the number of Cubans attempting to enter the US. It would be the humanitarian thing to do. Of course, foreign aid is not in the “orange” one’s vocabulary – only tariffs.
