America vs USA

America or USA

When you ask a search engine the question about the difference between America and the USA you get something like this:

“America and USA are often used interchangeably to refer to the United States of America, but they have distinct technical meanings. USA (or U.S.) is the specific country, a federal republic of 50 states, while America technically refers to the entire landmass of the Western Hemisphere, comprising both North and South America.”

Mis-using the word “America” is a gross insult to 671 million people who are not USA citizens.

(The total population of the Americas is approximately 1.02 billion, while the estimated population of the United States is 349 million (as of 2026).   Subtracting the U.S. population from the total Americas population yields a figure of roughly 671 million people.)

There are very few Columbians, Canadians and or Cubans who want to be associated with the USA. And, maybe more that 50% of people living in the USA are ashamed of our identity at this time.

Let’s speak correctly in all cases and drop the use of America when we mean the unsophisticated, war-prone, hegemon imbeciles of the USA.

BTW, I don’t mind the Gulf of America, vs Mexico, as long as we understand it is a body of water shared by all of the Americas. Unfortunately that’s not why there’s an attempt to rename it. It is not the possession of the USA!

BTW lets stop promoting patriotism at all sporting events – it’s a form of brain washing that has nothing to do with sports.
